FyDark · Shrink
Make pictures smaller, three ways.
By the quality you choose, to a size a form allows, or a whole folder at once. All three run in your browser, free, with nothing uploaded. Cloud Pro takes batches past 25 to a server.
- Runs in your browser
- Free, no sign-in — batches of 25
- JPEG or WebP; AVIF where the browser can write it
- 01By quality
- 02To a size
- 03Many at once

The three
Quality, a size, or a folder.
Each has its own page, with every setting the studio's panel really has.
Good to know
What they do, and what they don't.
01
You choose the trade
Lower quality, smaller file. The result shows the old size and the new one, so you can try again before you save.
02
How it searches
It halves the gap eight times: too big, it tries lower; small enough, it tries higher. You get the best one under your number.
03
25 free
Free batches run in your browser, up to 25 pictures. More than that needs Cloud Pro.
04
On a server
With Cloud Pro, batches upload to a server: up to 1,000 pictures, or 5,000 on Team. The results come back into the studio to download.
05
About AVIF
Your browser writes the file, so FyDark offers AVIF only where the browser can write it — Chrome, today, can't. For AVIF anywhere, use a Cloud Pro batch, which encodes on a server.
06
Size isn't changed
Compress keeps the pixel size. To make it smaller still, resize it first.
Questions
Asked and answered.
Which one should I use?
Compress when you want to judge the quality yourself; Compress to a Size when a form or an inbox has a limit; Batch Optimize for many pictures at one setting.
Is it free?
Yes, in your browser, with no account and no daily limit. Batches over 25 run on a server and need Cloud Pro.
Do free batches upload my pictures?
No. Up to 25 run in your browser. Server batches, on Cloud Pro, upload them to do the work.
My form wants under 50 KB and it won't get there.
Make the picture smaller in pixels first with Resize; fewer pixels need fewer bytes.
How much smaller will it get?
It depends on the picture. Photos usually shrink a lot as JPEG or WebP; flat graphics may do better as PNG. Try a quality and look at the number.
